Claude Nicollier
Claude Nicollier is Switzerland's man in space.

He was part of four space missions: Atlantis (1992), Hubble Repair (1993), Columbia (1996) and Discovery (1999). He retired as an astronaut after the Discovery flight, but continues to work with NASA.

Professor Konrad Akert


Professor Konrad Akert is a neurosurgeon in Switzerland.

Earlier in his life  he taught at Johns Hopkins and the University of Wisconsin.

Psychiatrist Elizabeth Kübler-Ross devoted her professional life to investigating death. In the 1970s she was instrumental in breaking the taboos that surround the process of dying.

He refused to serve a tyrant.  That decision led him to the United States where he established the Treasury Department.

Born in Varna, Bulgaria, to Swiss parents, and grew up in Canton Glarus.
