Swiss Customs
Traditional customs are alive and well all over Switzerland, with a lively variation not only from region to region, but even from village to village. Religious festivals, the farming year and the events of history - all are remembered in one way or another.

Sports Successes
2009 began a slam: the Australian Open. Roger Federer proved all his critics wrong and ended up in the final – in addition to all three other grand slam finals.

In October, Switzerland qualified for the 2010 football World Cup. winning one of 32 places in South Africa.
